SYNTHETIC MATERIALS

Clear Polyurethane

Polyurethane is an extremely versatile elastomer used in countless applications worldwide. Polyurethanes mechanical properties can be isolated and manipulated through creative chemistry, which creates a number of unique opportunities to solve problems with performance characteristics unequaled in any other material.

The following are some of the benefits of polyurethane:

  • Vacuum-forming
  • Sealability
  • Performs well against Fungus Attacks and High Humidity
  • Enhanced UV Stability
  • Cold-crack Resistance

Clear Polyurethane is used in a variety of our products such as:

  • Tool holders on tool pallets
  • Clear windows for showcasing/storing your products in Sales Display Cases, ID Tag Holders
  • Clear windows offering protection as well as operability of data-collection hand-held computers etc.

Cord

Cords in the form of loops, tethers, lanyards, etc. are used in our products. They work either as a standalone product or as an accessory to a case, holster, etc. to secure a stylus or another add-on. Cords are typically made of elastic (straight/coiled), polypropylene, etc..

Elastic (Braided, Knitted, Woven)

Elastic Coil

Elastic coils are primarily used in our product line as tethers.

Fabric Ballistic Nylon

Ballistic nylon is a thick, tough, synthetic nylon fabric used for a variety of applications. Laboratory tests have been run and the 1050 denier fabric is the strongest and most durable fabric for its denier weight level. Ballistic nylon is typically used for luggage, as it resists abrasion and tearing.

For durability and rugged appearance, Senior Ballistic Nylon (1050 denier) and 1680 denier nylon are used in our:

  • Holsters
  • OP Cases
  • Carry Cases

Fabric Cordura

Cordura® is a high-performance nylon designed to be long lasting and resistant to abrasions, tears, and scuffs. Learn more at Invista.

Fabric Packcloth

Packcloth is a durable and flexible fabric with a urethane coating that makes it water, mold, and mildew resistant. It has a soft hand and is commonly used in briefcases, backpacks, raingear, etc..

Packcloth used as lining for our:

  • Fanny packs
  • Vests
  • Oxygen Cylinder Bags
  • Laptop Sleeves
  • Sales Sample Cases, among others
  • Holsters
  • OP Cases
  • Carry Cases

Fabric Polyduck

Poly Duck has the look of canvas but uses polyester threads with a heavier weave.

Fiberglass PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated fabric combines the easy-release, chemical inertness and heat resistance of PTFE (commonly Teflon) with the strength and dimensional stability of fiberglass. PTFE offers a very low coefficient of friction and high heat resistance hydrophobic properties. The fluorocarbon impregnation and coating is extremely resistant to most industrial chemicals and is used in applications with temperatures up to 600° F.

The following are some of the features of Fiberglass PTFE:

  • Low Flammability
  • Excellent Abrasion Resistance
  • Chemical Inertness
  • Low Coefficient of Friction

One of the products using this material is our Fiberglass PTFE and Kevlar Insulating Jacket for an adhesive gun.

Kevlar

Kevlar is a high-strength material developed by DuPont. The applications of Kevlar range from tires, ropes, and fabric sheets to body armor. Owing to its high tensile strength-to-weight ratio, Kevlar is five times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis.  Woven Kevlar material can be used for mooring lines and other underwater applications.  Agora manufactures several products such as caps, harness assemblies, etc. for our customers in the safety industry.

Lamination

Agora offers an assortment of fabric/foam laminated soft cases and holsters that offer superior protection and portability for your products, such as:

  • Oxygen Cylinder Bags
  • Tablet Computer Cases
  • Waist Belts
  • Sales Display Cases
  • Engineered Light-shield Applications
  • Padded Covers
  • Instrument Cases

We are also experienced in making Laminated UBL and Mesh Fabric Elbows wear and Knee wear for use in medical situations, more specifically, ‘Pain Management Applications’.

Loop Material

Hook and Loop (aka Velcro) is one of the most common raw materials used in our products because of the versatility it offers.

Unbroken loop (UBL) is used for Display cases.

Mesh Fabric

Polyester and Nylon/Spandex mesh fabrics are used in our:

  • Vest Liners
  • Case Pockets (for see-through applications)
  • Head-net/Helmet applications

Elastic (Spandex) mesh pockets where flexibility along with stretch is needed

Mordura

Mordura is a high-performance, high-stretch fabric used in demanding applications such as commercial and military use. It’s a knit fabric made of nylon and polyester yarns.

Neoluxe

Flocked vinyl with cold-crack resistance is used for Tool Pouch/Pocket applications.

Neoprene

Neoprene is a versatile synthetic rubber used in chemical and weather-resistant applications invented by DuPont. It is resistant to oil, wax, grease, and withstand temperatures from -50 °C to 120 °C.

Nomex

Nomex is another of DuPont’s inventions – popular for its flame-resistant properties.  It’s worn by fire-fighting personnel, military pilots, race car drivers, etc.. Agora manufactures a head harness assembly (used with air respirators) made of polyester mesh and Nomex, as well as a custom-cut Nomex moisture pad that fits inside a molded case.

Sail Cloth
