Project: Headgear Design for Sleep Apnea Patients – AB1426
Sleep Apnea is a disorder that occurs when a patient’s breathing in disrupted during sleep. As a result, a breathing machine is used overnight to assist with breathing. A mask is secured to the face using fabricated headgear. At times, this headgear can be cumbersome and uncomfortable. The quality of sleep can be further affected by an irritable headgear.
After review of current designs with local Sleep Apnea patients, we considered all complaints and concerns when designing an alternate headgear. The ergonomic fit contours the shape of the head and provides a more universal and comfortable design to patients.
