We started our business in an 8,500 SF building. We needed to have an adhesive spray booth to manufacture some of our new custom products. We had no room left in the building.

One of our team members had a background in construction in his country. With his help and knowledge, we built a weather-tight spray booth with a canopy and curtains outside our factory. This capability helped us expand our portfolio of custom products.

This kickstarted our goal of wanting to become a one-stop shop for our customers.

Relationships Matter (Part 1)

A message from our founder, Subash Dave’.

I believe that personal relationships are a huge factor in your personal enrichment of life, which can also translate to your work life. Without the generosity of friends who help along the way, it would be much harder to achieve growth and satisfaction.

A good friend, Ron Lambert, had a metal shop. Back in 1986, he took two weeks off his business to help us move six trailers of used machinery all the way from NJ to Florida.

When I first started my business, Mr. Blackburn who has a vacuum forming business helped by giving us different sized containers, which we used as material handling containers. This saved us some money which we could then use for purchasing raw materials.

My friend Real Ramaciere, worked in a watch strap factory as a plant manager. He came every day after finishing work and helped us repair machines and made production fixtures for us. Without his help, we could not have shipped products on time.

Team AGORA is made up of people from many parts of the world. They have brought with them a variety of knowledge and skills, which has allowed us to create unique solutions.

We were once challenged with making a canvas bucket carried by linemen and electricians. It is important for a canvas bucket to be very secure to hold needed tools for the user, so usually there is a strong handle which, back then, was made out of thick rope and had to be installed by hand onto the bucket.

One of our team members from Cambodia used to weave rope he made from coconut fiber into several applications back in his home country. Bingo! With his expertise and everyone’s help, we ended up producing and shipping a several thousand buckets for our customers in a record number of time.

At AGORA we have learned to build on people’s skills, and let our employee’s individual skills and specific knowledge shine.

Barcode scanning was beginning to gain grounds, especially when the UPC barcode was adopted as the standard in the retail industry. Now, barcode scanning is used almost everywhere. In this day and age, information is always on the go. That’s why businesses are using scanners to read barcodes, keeping track of inventory and Medical records along with other vital data. We need to have these handheld devices on us, accessible when we need them.

Imagine a delivery driver carrying out orders for 10 hours a day, the whole time fumbling between carrying a box and a scanner all at once, or a retail associate having to place his device on the ground every time he needs to alternate between scanning price tags and arranging the store shelves.

We at UltimaCase experienced similar issues when we started using a mobile computer to take inventory for a couple of days, without having a holster. We realized that as a user, we need some type of accessory that can hold our device either on our person or around us. This will help us improve our productivity, protect our device, and eliminate the frustration of looking for a device that has been misplaced. As mobile computer companies became larger, the need for mobile accessories grew, with OEM companies opening for custom work, and UltimaCase took up the challenge.

Our founder found opportunities for supplying mobile solutions for barcode scanning devices with some of the first mobile computer manufacturers, and as demand grew, we became a key supplier of custom mobile solutions in this market. We have all the experience, with our team of five designers (including two Industrial engineers), as well as extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities, including 3D printers for design, a machine shop for fixtures, and etc. for improved productivity. Our products have been field-proven by many large and medium-sized companies, including major OEM companies that have used our custom mobile solution designs for product offerings.

A Guide to Cleaning Your UltimaCase Holster/Case

Healthcare Holsters & OP Cases

Our medical grade material withstands sanitizing chemicals used in Healthcare. 

Nylon Holsters & OP Cases

UltimaCase holsters are usually made with a Ballistic Nylon exterior.

Nylon type products may be cleaned of dirt and dust using a soft, damp cloth.

Lint may be removed using an adhesive lint brush roller.

Leather OP Cases

Use a sponge or damp cloth to wipe the surface clean with warm water.

Leather products may be cleaned and reconditioned using standard leather cleaners.

Mount Holsters

UltimaCase’s mount holsters, made from a hard plastic material, are easy to wipe down.

Clean of dirt and dust using a soft, damp cloth.

How AGORA Came To Be

President Subash Dave’ Reminisces on AGORA’s Founding & Early Days

In the mid‐eighties, an Industrial Engineer was perplexed by the state of the manufacturing industry. Custom products lacked quality and consistency. To get a product to market, a business would have to build a network of multiple sources, including engineers, designers and manufacturers, all working on disparate components to produce just one product. Businesses couldn’t meet market demand in time due to the logistics and lack of communication between the different companies.

Needless to say, manufacturing was costly and a time‐consuming ordeal. The market was fragmented, delivery was slow and the products lacked quality.

Clearly, there was a need for a one‐source solution to simplify custom manufacturing. To create high quality customized products that could meet corporate budgets and timelines, Subash Dave’, our founder, did what any engineer would do: he identified the problem.


He Remembers How It All Started

“I was working at a manufacturing company when I noticed that custom soft goods manufacturing was not keeping up with market demand. Mass produced items could be delivered in time but customized items lagged behind.

This needed to change.

At the time, small companies that delivered custom solutions had long lead times, used old machinery, and were occasionally switching out materials without getting the customer’s approval first.

There was a need for a one‐source solution to simplify custom manufacturing – one that invested in the newest capabilities, had the expertise, and customers could trust. To create high quality customized products that could surpass customer expectations.

I started a small business that combined custom design services and manufacturing. By joining these separate disciplines under one roof, AGORA was born.

An ISO certification followed shortly after, which proved our consistency and high standards, the qualities that made our customers believe in us in the first place.”

Universal Rotating Hand Strap for Tablets

The Challenge

A large logistics company needed a way to get a secure grip on their tablets. The issue was that they used many different styles and brands and needed a one-size-fits-all solution.

The Solution

The universal hand strap attaches to any 10″ tablet. The swivel allows the device to easily go from portrait to landscape mode. D-rings make it easy to attach a shoulder strap if needed. AGORA also extended the design and created straps to fit 7″ and 8″ models.

The Challenge

Keeping tools neat and organized is a job in itself. This company wanted an elegant way to display a full set of tools for their sales team.

The Solution

Using custom measurements entered into our CNC machine, AGORA was able to create a perfect fit for every item. A clear cover on top allows the tools to be displayed while in the case, while a rugged strap makes the case easy to carry. In the end, a beautiful custom foam-filled case was created.
