VACUUM FORMING
Vacuum Forming is a type of thermoforming that uses a heated material, a mold and vacuum pressure to shape a material. The vacuum formed part can be as detailed as the mold can be made. This process is ideal for thermoplastic materials.
Although this process is common in packaging, it can also be used with flexible materials like PU and PVC to form covers or wraps. It is most used for films and materials that contain Polyurethanes or PVC that needs to take a particular form. An example would be a protective cover to go over a keypad to keep it from getting dirty.
